Well here she is.:D:D:D:D:D All dressed up and no where to go untill the Duracoat cures.

I stripped her down, gave her a good sanding (to remove the china crap) and then degreased her. The frame is Duracoat Stainless Steel and the slide is Duracoat HK Black. I'm rather impressed for my very first time refinishing a pistol. It was much easier than I had anticipated.

So, which one's next.:p

I used for JB Weld as body filler for the china stamps and then took some 400 emery cloth to it. The Duracoat instructions said that blasting it is not necessary as long as you provide some tooth for the paint, hence the 400m grit emery cloth..

I had sent this gun off to Armco last summer and Gunnar did a number on it for me. This guy is amazing. It shoots 1 1/2" (benched) at 20 yds. but it has always run flawlessly. So today she is not only perfect, but pretty as well.:D:D:D:D

Oh, and a big thank you to Black Cat Coatings in Alberta for the Duracoat.:)

I should do that to my 1911, The finish is getting worn down, it could use a face lift..What did you use to apply the durakote?

Beautiful job, but I too fail to see where the serail number is! I hope your photoshoped it out... otherwise you have a ###y looking prohib! ;)

Damm really, What about guns that do not come with a Ser #, I Know my Mauser does not have one, I called the CFC and they did not really care...

If you have used an air brush before, its really an easy process to getting her looking pretty again. I was a lttle hesitant but since I only have $500 into the Norc I figured I didn't have much to loose if it turned out crappy. And Armco could always strip it down and plate it for me at the very worst. I was really surprised how well it turned out so I'm going to strip down that little .22 Norc trainer I just got from Lever Arms and paint all of the metal parts not including the barrel.

Actually, I just finished building a 10/22 Ultimate, and in the process, I strip the black receiver and trigger group and repainted it in a stainless steel. On top of the green Envy Raptor stock it looks just awsome.:D

I bought 4 oz. of stainless steel, green and HK black plus the hardner. Each bottle was $20 and theres LOTS left over so I'm looking for more projects as it has a shelf life of only 18 months.

One thing the pics don't illustrate very well is the hammer and the barrel bushing. I polished them to a mirror finish and they look absolutely spectacular against the black slide but not enough to make it look pimpy;).
