About a year ago, I decided to get my Noricon 1911 that ive had for almost 20 years re-finished and a few parts added.

Here is the original, nice cheap parkerized finish, orange hand painted dot sites...very basic but shoots extremely well.

I got a bunch of grips for the project, stuff from VZ and stuff from Ed at Wicked Grips, heres some of the grips,

Currently the gun is wearing the pink grips, they look much nicer than the picture, but my camera is crappy.

I had the following parts added,

STI Ambi safety
STI rear site
Custom red fibre optic front site
Mercury Guide Rod
Checkering on front strap
SA Checked Mainspring housing
STI beavertail- pinned
Afteck extractor
Chrome bead blast finish
New pins
STI hammer
STI trigger ~3lbs
SA Magwell
Ed Brown Magazines
Wicked Grips

Work was performed by Rodger Kotanko

thanks guys, yeah I loaded it up. Its my first 1911 and ive had it for a long time. Years ago I had cash issues and sold all my guns but this, so I figured one day I would do it up abit. Its very heavy, I gotta weigh it. Recoil is nothing...

Do the grips match your purse? :p

Otherwise, a great looking gun....excellent job on the refinish.

I specifically wanted some colours for the grips that werent common. In person the colour changes in the grips are pretty nice. I am planning on having Wicked Grips maybe make me up a set of Solid Bright Jade inlaid with silver for the final go. Thier wait list right now is about 1.5-2 years though.

not yet, my camera is having problems with the focus. Ill try the green tonight maybe.

The pistol looks awesome.... like the pattern in the grips, but the color not so much.

But overall very cool, though...

While Governor Arnie S. might call it a "girlie gun" what with the pink grips, I agree with the rest that you did a tremendous job on your Norkie. Tastefully done, fine quality accessories, you did almost everything I would've done to my own piece, (less the pink grips:rolleyes:). Only need a Bar-sto barrel to complete the job.

I'll take a hard chromed carbon steel gun over stainless, anyday. Gorgeous!

yeah Im still not sure about the barrel, was thinking about a bull barrel or some sort of match barrel but havent made up my mind yet. Any recommendations?

I love the grips, as my brother keeps saying "Takes a real man to wear pink". I'll never wear pink (unless for a good cause) but I'd use those grips, or even pinkify a firearm (for my baby girl) and use it proudly. Would like the grips more if they had a diamond or double diamond pattern though @.@

Also, shows the potential of Norinco pistols ^.^

I've always liked Bar-sto's regular profile. Had bull Barsto once and it felt too front end heavy, thus slower to present.

If you are into competition where the last fraction of an inch in accuracy is critical, then a well fitted match barrel is the way to go. Otherwise keep the original Norkie barrel if it shoots good enough for you.
