I am happy to hear comments (pro or con about my choices as it is not too late for changes or additions) and I will post pics once I have everything as some parts have arrived but others are on order.

I am starting with a norinco commander .45acp from sfrc. It was so cheap that I figured for 1000 bucks I can end up with a fully customized gun! I am doing the work with casey from tac ord. Here are the parts so far:

Fusion bob tail main spring housing (black, chain design)

Nighthawk custom solid medium trigger (3.5 lb trigger job will be done)

Wilson combat deluxe commander hammer

Fusion extended sigsauer style extended slide stop

Fusion high grip beavertail

Wilson combat sear

Wilson combat internal spring set

Novak style tritium sites

Vz black operator ii grips

I am also having the edges taken off and may need to get the gun refinished after everything.

I am still searching for a few parts. I was thinking about an ambi safety, but I am not sure if I should bother. I am also not sure if I should replace the extractor.

This thread is a bit selfish as I admit it is also a way for me to track what goes into this 1911 :)

step 1 = shave that nasty-arse trigger guard and make it round
step 2 = smoothen frame / slide rails (all surfaces) and trigger bar channel

i'm just glad guns are smaller than cars, or else you'd end up with Wilson / Novak / Fusion / etc stickers all over the god-damned thing :p

So don't put the stickers on? Ok got it! Yeah, that square trigger guard is ugly, I will see if we can add that to the list.

not only is it ugly, kydex / plastic holsters don't work with it cuz they're molded to the typical rounded shape. i just put mine against a bench grinder and it's pretty well back to the original-1911 rounded shape

If you are going with a high grip beavertail, then I would recommend getting a hi-grip cut for the frontstrap/trigger guard as well to take full advantage of the high grip beavertail.

Maybe something like this would work well with that Noec trigger guard:

:D me too! The grip is a VZ Operator II in Hyena Brown. Just ordered myself a set for my STI Ranger II. ;) Can't wait to see 'em in person!

I just got my black operators in the mail right now, they are beautifully made. They are very heavy! I was sure something else must be in the package too, but it was just the grips lol
