My Ontario Archery Buck

Great deer with a compound bow! I'd guess 140 +/- . Check if FROW has a spring event near you. For a voluntary donation they'll score it for you and 140 and up make it into the Ontario record book for posterity, lol. Now we need a storyline to go along with the pics.

My brother in law had snapped a picture that day that I had forgot about. I like this one. He's still at the taxidermist and I'm going through withdrawls. Lol. I want my buck back. Haha

I was running a bit late that morning, and didn't slip into my stand until after shooting light. Luckily I got in undetected and quietly. I sat quietly for 40 minutes with no sightings. I decided to reach into my bag and give a rattling sequence with a rack I had cut off a skull from a few years back. I had never rattled before that morning. Funny, I was actually watching rattling videos on YouTube the night before. So anyways, I rattled and within a few seconds I hear crunching to my west. Out he comes, jumps the stream looking for a fight. I was shaking like a leaf. I stopped him and let it fly. I wasn't sure about my shot, so I stayed in my stand for 90 minutes. In those 90 minutes I had 4 more bucks come in to check things out, and a lone doe. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

I walked out to the gate as my brother in law was pulling up to calm me down and help me track. We found the trail and found him piled up not too far as the crow flies. What a sight! We'd been watching him on our cameras for a couple years.
