UPDATE: My test results for Restricted and Non-Restricted were mailed out on the 1st of May and I got them back on the 7th of June. Roughly 4 weeks and change to get them back from the CFO. Now they have been faxed and i'm waiting for my interviews to be done.

UPDATE: All interviews are complete as of June 15th. Currently on day 38 of 45. Now i'm just waiting on those magical words to appear online.

Nice! Good luck and hope for a speedy turn around. My coworker who did the course this past weekend with me say they're in no rush and are going to wait for the test results to come in and send it all in one package. I'm going to send mine in early and we'll see how much difference it makes. If their licenses arrive first, I'll never hear the end of it. lol

Yeah, originally I was going to send my application in without the results, but i'm just gonna wait for my results before I mail it out now. At this current time, I won't have any extra funds to purchase anything until August anyways, so its pointless for me to rush it, lol. I'm patient.

If you send yours incomplete, does the 28 day mandatory waiting period start right then and there, or does it start once all paperwork has been received? Maybe I missed it in the thread about shorten approval times.

It starts when they receive it, regardless. I called them to confirm, they did. They also threw some odd math at me saying that this will make the application SLOWER. I asked how so, they said it will take an extra 5 days to process the fax... so wait, it'll take a month+ to get my stamped results from the Ontario CFO and if I only send the application then, it'll be at least another 28 days? So 5 days vs at least another month? Ya that's a lot slower... sent it over the weekend without results (did my tests on the 15th at Silverdale)

After thought; when I mail my application, should I staple everything together including my cheque and the little ziplock bag containing my picture?

I was kinda worried about the picture too, I just put it in in the Costco pouch I got it in.

(and FYI, Costco has a Firearms license size, 2 photos for 7 bucks).

Thanks. I already got my pictures done at walmart and I don't have a costco membership. I'll just keep it in the ziplock bag. Thanks for the reply dude.

I was worried about losing the picture too, as I just folded up my papers with the picture and my cheque in the middle. I wasn't sure if I shoudl staple or paperclip but it all worked out in the end.

Hey digital, when you payed by cheque, did it take them longer to process you due to them having to cash your cheque? I sent a certified cheque.

I sent a normal personal cheque and my rpal application was approved and issued 30 days after it arrived in mirimichi, so there was no delay because of the cheque. I was a bit concerned that it would slow things down but I am anti-credit card so I only use one when I have no other choice.

For anyone in Ontario who has mailed their application before receiving the stamped test results, did you mail your results once they got to you or did you fax them? Also, did you wait for them to send the incomplete application form and how long did that for take to get to you?

I faxed them in and an hour later I called to check and she said it was received. I don't understand about the incomplete form. I sent my application minus the test results. They sent a letter telling me to mail or fax the test results in.

I just waited to get my results back from the CFO. Neither my pal or rpal took longer than 30 days to get through the process. One was sent registered the other regular post, and there was no difference in processing time.

All registered mail allows you to do is track its progress and see when and who signed for it... it isn't any quicker

"Current Status: Your application has been received. It is currently being processed. You have been, or will be contacted either by phone or by mail for additional information. Please check the status again at a later date."

I just paperclipped everything together. Paid by Visa though, so no wait for cheque to be cashed

No issues.

However I did wait for the Ont CFO stamped results and mail everything at the smae time.

But that was back in 2008, and I had the results back from the CFO in about 5 business days and it only took 34 total days from date app sent to when I had the RPAL in hand.

Oh yeah baby! Got my test results back today! Only took 4 weeks, shorter than I thought it would take. They now have all my info and hopefully i'll get my interviews done in about a week or two.
