My own Rant: Road hunters (not truck hunters..but they suck too)

And how do you guys feel about "older" hunters who can no longer hike for hours on end? Is it ok if they road hunt or should they give up a sport that they love?

Just wondering.

Good point. I myself cant walk as far as I used to. But I still move about. Some folks can't get around. That's fine, but as long as they follow the rules, no problems. If they have permission from the landowners to drive around, that's cool too. Shooting from the truck is not only illegal, but unsportsmanlike as well. They would still have to be 'out' for the shot, and chances are they will be dropped off in a spot to wait. I would think anyways.

IMO? Road-hunt all you want...I don't have issue with that...really I don't. But PLEASE realize that you are, in fact, hunting a road....so please don't start a thread crying if someone drives by you...in a truck...on the road ;)

I would never do that..I hunt on crown land and last I heard it was open to everyone.Road hunters, treestand sitters,stalkers,hikers..ect..

Just use common sence and RESPECT for your fellow hunters.

Not necessarily true, if you are disabled or have a serious health problem you can apply for a permit to shoot from a vehicle. There are some rules that you have to follow to a "T" but they can be had and used!!!!!!!!!! I had one and need to apply for another ones as my old one expired a couple of yrs ago,

That's true in Alberta too. If you're handicapped in some ways, you can get a permit for vehicular hunting. My son had one for a while. - dan

I've heard of folks getting 'temp' permits too. so if you have had surgery and layed up for a few months you may qualify. just what i;ve heard... if any one knows for sure let me know. i have a friend that is having surgery on a foot and he still wants to hunt. should apply to quads/atvs too?

Well personally I hate stalkers. Really what is it with these people. It's like they have nothing better to do. It would be ok if they just sat outside in their car quietly, but when they follow you into the mall, that is where I draw the line! :pirate:
