I did an incredibly stupid thing today.

I'm in Calgary with time to kill so I swung by The Shooting Edge. Much to my excitement they had an XCR on the rack. I played around with it for about 10 minutes, my first time handling the rifle. I checked out all the features and ergonomics of this nifty rifle. I then asked they guy if I could pop it open to check out the internals. I guess they don't let window shoppers do this.

So I bought it.

I think I'll put a folding stock on it tomorrow. Then I'll figure out how I'm going to pay for this.

You B@st@rd! That was the XCR I was gonna buy. Now I'm gonna have to go and buy a Tavor. :D

Oh wait...I bought a Tavor today, before I heard that you bought that XCR. Never mind.

To be honest with you, TSE staff have been really good with me in terms of letting me inspect, handle, caress, and sometimes drool on their guns. I imagine that it helps that I do spend money there fairly regularly, and I tend to ask semi-intelligent questions about the objects of lust that I am pointing at. The fact that my Visa needs to be chained securely in my pocket before I walk through the door probably tips them off.

I figured when I'm bored with it in a month I'll turn around and sell it at an inflated value.

One thing I noticed right away is the XCR rails will not accept the KAC rail covers with the metal clip.

ouch.
(were there any left?)

I was there on sunday and noticed the xcr right away as well, I was talking to allan and he told me that there was seven of them in the back. Couldn't tell if they were restricted barrel lengths or not, as I didn't check it out just a glance.

A folder would be nice! Someone better start bringing them in or making them soon. I like mine but it needs the folder and about 1" off the LOP. Its alittle too long with a vest on. The rifle balances quite well, even with the long barrel. Decent nonrestriced rifle that will take the copious amount of AR mags I've aquired over the years. And not too much more than the cost of a done up AR.
