My pistol shoots palm sized groups all day... Prove it!

Thanks for the compliments. I have the Gold Cup sights setup for center of target, eg the middle. For my old eyes, it is difficult to hold of center of B-8 target, not a problem with IPSC targets as they have no black center. Anyway, shot this target (among others), then adjusted sights to hold on bottom of black center (Bullseye style), but did not do as well as this target. Oh well ....

Damn! Excellent group, congrats. I won't embarrass myself as I could never shoot that tight.

Practice, dry fire does wonders for getting trigger control and sight alignment down, and costs nothing but your time. Do 30-40 pulls a night for a month, ensuring proper sight alignment and trigger control, then go back to the range and shoot slowly for groups, focusing on those two things. You'll be amazed at the improvement.

I posted this one in the other thread:

M%252526P%25252095-2X.jpg

It was shot with a S&W M&P.

Can someone tell me how to add these up? Does a X = 10?

Bone Stock S&W 22A1 in rimfire. Not sure whats better 97 - X4 or the 99 - X2

Then 2245 guess call it OPEN. 95 - X4 or 98 x 2

Sorry I don't do bullseye or NRA style shooting so I don't know whats better but there are my entries. Do I get bonus points for -4, split finger and shot up target stands?

RobertMcC,

Very nice shooting ..... but I believe your scores are higher. X-ring scored as 10, and if round touches a line, counts as the higher score.

My scoring,

Upper left: 100 3X
Upper right: 95 4X
Lower left: 100 4X
Lower right: 99 4X

Thanks wasn't sure on the 100% ruling on this. I was being fair and using how much of the bullet crossed the line. More then 50 % take the higher value and under the lesser value. But thanks for the clarification.

Re counted

Upper Left 99x2 (Lines not broken in person)
Upper Right Still 95 X4
Lower Left 98x4 ( 2 outer obvious 9 hits )
Lower Right 100 x3 ( top one breaks the X, bottom 2 are tears and not from the bullet )

Top score for each pistol look like 100 X3 to me, so that's what I entered them as. The S&W was put in Rimfire, and the Ruger was in open.

Nice shooting!

Thanks, I'll have a couple more entries in the new years. I'm going to take a crack at target with no optics on that 2245 and I got another open Ruger in the safe I need to bring out. As well as the 1911s that saying please SIR can I come out to play. I actually enjoyed doing this.

Awesome, look forward to seeing how they do.

I brought a bunch of stuff out with me on the weekend, but forgot the proper targets... so no new entries for me... f:P:
