Ok.
so after some thought, I've basically decided that this is my plan.
I will find an SVT-40 that was preferably bubbad, but with metal intact..
(don't want to mess with an original)
and acquire the various needed parts, SVD stock, SVD magazine body (to cover the SVT mag) perhaps replacement top metal (or just something added or over top) and I'll use my POSP scope that I have..
here's a quick photoshop I made to show how well it'll work.
the only thing missing after just the stock, scope and mag are added is to strip the wood from the receiver, alter the top metal to be more rearward, and do a bit of extra trimming.
also, perhaps remove the front heat sheild..but maybe just keep it. it looks cool
take a gander:
rough, I know, but it just shows that the SVT is definately a good place to start.
also, considering I can probably find a bubba'd SVT for cheap, and I already have the scope, the rest of the parts are very cheap.
the hardest part will probably just be fitting/tweaking/embellishments
Personally, I think it's a pretty solid idea. and I'm gonna start on it right away (by finding an SVT bubba for sale,)
Neato!
