My polymer handgun choices.

Just to throw another option out there.....Grand Power? They've had some bad luck with distributors but seem to be getting things in order now. I'm not a huge fan of polymer guns in general but have a K100 that seems to be a pretty good gun to me. Others who have tried it, and who are far more experienced shooters than me, liked it and were surprised at how good the trigger is.

I still love my HK45. Looked at the VP9, but absolutely can't abide safety's on triggers. I don't like the feel of them and find them distracting (yes I'm old)

Canik TP9SA is completely overpriced in Canada. $300 in the States, over $600 here, and this was even before when the dollar was around $0.82. De-cocker serves no purpose on the SA version, therefore it's nothing but a liability. Polymer DA/SA pistols make 1000 times more sense if you want a nice SA trigger.

The TP9V2 is actually a pistol I would consider, as I do like the striker indicator and the feel of the pistol in the hand. However it's pretty much guaranteed the V2 will be overpriced IF it ever even makes it into Canada

FNS-9 and Glock 19-17 prices line up with American prices and are both good buys.

I never understood the concept of buying a pistol knowing the trigger was crap and you will have to change it. Why not buy from a company that doesn't insult your money and ships the firearm with an acceptable trigger?

If you can learn to shoot an M&P well you will be an ace with a competition gun. The triggers are hard to get used to - but its a hell of a gun, and if you allow yourself the time to get used to it while learning the principals of good pistol shooting smoother shooting handguns will be a breeze. That said, I've managed to get quite good with mine, so much so that I own 5 S&W pistols now.

I get a bit of a kick handing it to someone shooting a cz and see their groups fall apart :D

I just picked up an m&p 40. I had a beretta and a glock. I tried the 40 before I bought it and it has less flippy recoil and is more controllable and accurate for me.

I have a freind that got a m&p 9 and it also feels quite flippy with recoil compared to the 9mm.

The 1911 has been my favorite for many years . Just could not accept a polymer gun until I watched the Glock full auto video on you tube. They can take it.... Now a 17 Glock is on order.
