My PORT 98 with newly acquired PORT bayonet

I just acquired a PORT contract bayonet and scabbard from another member. Ive been looking for one since I picked up my first matching K98. A 1941 PORT.
The member asked for a few pics of bayo and rifle. so here they are. Bayo does not match rifle but is in the H block.

Congratulations on finding a nice bayonet in the "H" block for your fine rifle.

How lucky was that.

If the Sn. on your bayonet is H 19873.

Here is a photo of bayonet Sn. H 19063.
My 41 Port is also in the H block---- H 1707.

Bayo is H19872/Scab H73 One digit off.......not sure if a factory switch up or anywhere down the line.
My rifle is H907.

Notice how our rifles are 800 off and the bayos are 809 off......kind of strange.


Seems like alot of mismatched bayonets for these PORTS. Maybe I could ask a mod to allow me a sticky to compile a serial/member list. See if we cant actually reunite some of these things.

Used to be 15 sks, but now packed with ammo! Any ammo that isnt in a factory crate is in there.
