My Range Pistol Transport Solution

Heliwrench. same here...how did you get rid of the canadian tire sticker on the top cover? The paper doesn't peel off very well and i hesitate to use goo gone in case it ruins the metal finish?

$15 at Canadian Tire. Aluminum outside and the latches lock. Pick n pluck foam came with it.

I soaked the sticker with wind ex and let it sit for a while.
Came off pretty easy after that.
Finished by rubbing with a plastic dish cleaner with a bit of solvent to get the last of the glue off.

I have the Canadian Tire aluminum tool case also. Like it (at the sale price especially).

I got the sticker off by
1. trying to peel off what I could (and getting frustrated)
2. scraping a little with a plastic putty knife (more frustration but no damage to the finish)
3. randomly scoring the remaining sticker with the plastic putty knife
4. rubbing the sticker with vegetable oil (I think it was grapeseed, could have been some old olive oil, doesn't matter what) and leaving it for a day
5. sticker was easily scraped off with the plastic putty knife. Cleaned up any remnants with kerosene and then rubbing alcohol.

I have to admit it was one of the tougher stickers I have ever dealt with. Easily the biggest downside to the CT box.

Windex doesn't usually work for me for this sort of thing, so I didn't try it. Based on the reviews on the CT site, some people have stickers that just peel off, while others can't seem to get them off without major surgery. Maybe the Chinese factory isn't consistent with the sticker or glue...

Yup, that looks like it. I got mine on sale for around $20. Also, mine had pluck foam in it rather than the dividers, but I have seen both in the store (although I haven't looked recently). It isn't quite silver colored - there is sort of a brownish tinge to the silver on mine (in certain lights). Doesn't worry me though.

Those canadian tire boxes aren't really aluminum though. They're a compressed fibre board that's sprayed to look like aluminum. At least the one I bought from them was.

I bought one just o case my 500 magnum in and I'm not overly impressed. The pick n pluck foam in it should be in at least two layers to make it more versatile.
