The SVT40 was developed from 1938 to 1940 and was the most widely-used semi-auto firearm in the second world war before the US entered the conflict in earnest in 1942.

It is a MILSURP as defined by the tongue-in-cheek sub-forum description "old rifles buried in the backyard since WW2", so if OPs post about them here - pretty pls with sugar on top, stop moving them to that "other sub-forum" dedicated to the sporterization of Chinese SKS's and the gucci-gear-ization of the VZ58.

Thanks.

OH NO YOU DI'INT!! :D

Totally agree Ron.

Imho Red Rifles is for post WW2 rifles/'nutters who like to do modifications. The SVT 40 is a WW2 milsurp and is better served here.

I understand you. I put the SVT thread in milsurp first but then remember that svt is now allowed as a red rifle so i asked if the thread should be but in red rifle as well. Since i was used to see the SVT in milsurp, i just ask to put the thread back in milsurp, will see what will happen. My apologizes to all the fellow milsurp lovers for my mistake:redface:

I see it's been moved back to Milsurps. With any comments regarding it's location removed, that is.

Where was the notice that SVT's were now "allowed" in Red Rifles? I missed that.

Technically, milsurp should be ANY military surplus firearm (pistol, rifle, shotgun) but the way it has been is WWI/WWII firearms. Leave red rifle for Cold War era and modern firearms.
