The SVT40 was developed from 1938 to 1940 and was the most widely-used semi-auto firearm in the second world war before the US entered the conflict in earnest in 1942.
It is a MILSURP as defined by the tongue-in-cheek sub-forum description "old rifles buried in the backyard since WW2", so if OPs post about them here - pretty pls with sugar on top, stop moving them to that "other sub-forum" dedicated to the sporterization of Chinese SKS's and the gucci-gear-ization of the VZ58.
Thanks.
