I picked up a used XCR-L Light barrelled KeyMod (1-9 twist) with about 1500 rounds through her back in the fall. Picked up a 4x32 LED ACOG, BCM KAG grip, MBUS PRO irons, Precision Armament M-72 brake, and the Magpul K pistol grip to complete the package. Haven't really got a chance to shoot her much. Ive only put about 300 rounds down range.
I decided to do a quick ammo comparison. Ive heard all kinds of rumours about people getting their XCR's to shoot near MOA with the right type of ammo. I took a stroll through my local Cabelas and grabbed 4 boxes off the shelf. Im not a big ammo guru so I picked what appeared to the the highest end 223 (most expensive) of various grains. Ive always heard that 55-62gr is ideal for 1-9 twist barrel.
Here is what I shot:
Spam Can Norinco 5.56mm 55gr (I believe it's 55gr?)
Remington Premier ACCUTIP-V .223 55gr
Hornady Varmint Express .223 55gr V-MAX
Nosler Match Grade Ballistic Tip .223 60gr BT
Hornady Superformance Match .223 75r BTHP
I shot 5 rd groups from 100m (verified by GPS).
Trijicon ACOG 4x32 LED w/ crosshair reticle. Illumination turned off as the reticle is sharper.

Aaaaand the results!
Norinco 55gr
3.64 MOA

Remington 55gr
1.91 MOA

Hornady 55gr
2.5 MOA

Nosler 60gr
2.38 MOA

Hornady 75gr

0.916 MOA

WOAH! This definitely impressed me. Probably a fair bit of luck involved... hah
and a pic of the entire target

I decided to shoot that series again to check for consistency (my own consistency lol). I wasn't able to group the 75gr as well the second time around, but I was starting to get impatient.
I'm not a precision shooter my any means and the ACOG is not a precision optic. It's a combat sight designed for centre of mass hits.
Norinco 3.46 MOA
Remington 2.5 MOA
Hornady 55gr 2.02 MOA
Nosler 60gr 1.91 MOA
Hornday 75gr 2.62 MOA

All in all I'm rather satisfied. With a little bit of concentration, good ammo, and maybe a bench I'm sure I could get this thing shooting 1.5moa consistently.
