Would you consider a Chinese Poly Technologies M305 or Norinco M14 red? :)

i think it should be USED by a "red " country's armies to "qualify" as a red rifle- the 305 /m14 is not- neither is the chambering commonly used- the rest are ok-

Well, in truth, I wasn't too serious about it. I just wanted to sneak it into the photo, as part of my "battle rifle" collection. :)

I can see that you stripped and refinished your laminated Russian SKS and achieved the same results as me...nice!

Yes, I chemically stripped the refurb shellac garbage with Circa 1850 stripper (not a go-go dancer born in 1850), then "buffed" with 00, followed by 0000 steel wool. I then applied 3 generous coats of Circa 1850 tung oil (1 hour between applications). After a full 24 hours I lightly "buffed" the tung finish with 0000 steel wool to make everything smooth as a baby's bottom, and then finished with one last coat of tung oil. I let it dry a full 48 hours and then "sealed" with a treated Hoppes cloth: http://www.opticsplanet.net/hoppes-wax-treated-chamber-cleaning-kit-10pack-1217.html

The best finish of any of my 11 rifles, new or old. You can't beat the old world methods of wood finishing.

The .22 and .177 have seen the most action - my "battles" are primarily with sparrows, gophers and other vermin.

RMXC51, Very nice SKS's!

Here are my two "verminators":

A .22LR and a .177 pellet pistol. The pistol using steel BB's or hunting pellets has turned out to be extremely effective for grackles and tree rats within 25 metres.

Seeing your laminate stock, I wish I'd jumped on one of the black bolts I saw here a couple weeks ago. I'd have redone it like yours for sure. None are left with lam stocks, the remainders are uuuuugly.

Wish I was right handed so I had a better and cheaper choice of bolt actions!

Look-up Weimajack. I'm sure he has a few laminates in stock... and he seems to always have NICE handpicked SKS's!
