my Rememberance Day buck

Well, after a day of driving around pushing bush a lot and 10 minutes left of shooting time I dropped this guy. Im not sure how much he weighed but I can attest that he was one heavy sonofa##### when we threw him into the truck box.

The blood on his leg is from him bleeding out in the box of my buddies truck.

My friend was pushing bush for me. I was standing 150 yards from where he came out with a bunch of does. He saw me, took off and then stopped behind the crest of a hill.

He was behind the hill and I looked throgh the scope to see that I had only about 6 inches of him showing. I could see his rack and his back.
I upped the trusty ol' mighty Stevens model 200 7mm08 in a offhand position and fired. Boom-Whack- the 160grain sierra did its job. he dropped. I hit him in the lungs. walked up and he raised his head looking at me. Not feeling too brave about davey crocket knifing him, I shot him in the neck.

Estimated distance of first shot was 200yards.

I yelled at my budy to get the truck. Over he came and we threw him in the back. He was heavy!! maybe it was the adrenaline pumping, but we somehow got him in.

Took him back to my parents place gutted him, skinned him out. I got to use the Wyoming knife for the first time. What a slick tool.

So, I am not sure what he scores I am guessing around 140. the end of his right main beam was deformed a little, almost like he was growing a drop tine but not quite.

My biggest deer so far, with many more to come. Now back to studying for college, sigh:mad:

We were pushing bush in one spot that we knew a cougar had been spotted near previously that morning. The spidey sense was on full alert:eek: . I had one racked in the chamber, and my 2 knives were ready, and the safety was off. Luckily for the cougar and I we didnt find eachother!
