Well the Antique Orignal Remington 1875 Army i bought Ages ago from Texas as a Clunker is up and finished.
The gun was found near the US Mexican border and most Likely a Apache Gun as the barrel was cut Crude.
The Reservation Police also carried 1875 Remingtons.

Anyway there the strongest best made Pre 1898 SA gun i Figger.
They have a better Action than a SAA Colt are Way stronger than a SAA Colt and the extra weight is a good thing with the Power house loads i put thru the gun the Barrel dont lift near as high as a SAA Colt.

This ones gota new rebuilt Cylinder and Rebuilt Barrel Everything else is Orignal.
The Receiver is Compleatly Orignal nothing done to it.
Its set up in 45 Schofield and can Handle the Heavy Loads.
The Heavy Barrel and web help with the Recoil.

Theses are my Favorite Guns.
I got two more Orignal Antique ones im fixing up.
Ones a Match for this one in the Below pictures.

Pictures Suck as its Dark and Raining here sp the pics do not even come close to showing how nice this Remy really is.

I have a machineist Buddy does em up for me useing the orignal cylinders. hes old and Cranky and doesnt want any other work.
its all i can do to get them done for me.

The orignal Barrels have a 30 to 1 thread pitch and so Repo barrels wont fit. Repo Cylinders are to big a Dia as well for the orignal frame.
So there Expensive guns to Rebuild.
The Rebuilt Barrels have to be made up to fit that Web perfect its not just a Round barrel.

a Colt SAA is Way easyer to Rebuild.
The Orignal main spring Remys use is much better than the Colt spring thats one reason the action is so nice.

I bet theses were more Expensive than colts back then.
I dont know that for certin but the Extractor and Cylinder main shaft is a thing of Wonder the way it all works and locks in with No Cross screw or holding screw like a SAA Colt.
They just feel like more work went into them.
Very nice Action light triggers with NO creep.

I might do the Next one with a 5 3/4 inch barrel tho. they just look cool with the shorter barrels. :)

I love that Remy. Dingus finds them because he puts in lots of hours on the net and with dealing with people who know he is a good guy . It is the kind of luck that seems to work for people who work their butts off.

Another thing I like about the Remmy is it has that distinct profile with the web.
It looks great and is a nice change from all the SAA's.
It would be a hard choice between it and a Schofield for me though.
