My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

Going to try and take a crack at this challenge. During load development had some promise with 5shot 0.5MOA groups on two charges of H4895...back to the basement to tighten the charges and go from there.

Edit - I think I found a load for my M40A3 clone. 41.7gr H4895, 175gr SMK at COAL of 2.800' gave me a 0.343MOA - redoing a few +/-0.1gr's and I will then make my bid for the challenge.

Excited!

Just a "refresh" with a different barrel/chamber ..and a bit of a twist by using 3 different bullets to shoot the five groups in this recently chambered 6 Dasher. Ber 105 VLD (T), Ber 105 VLD (H), and Ber 100 VLD (T) ..all with the same charge weight and seating depth. Needs a bit of fine tuning, but the sub-1/2MOA is no issue. Barnard Action with Jewel trigger in Rebin stock with a 25" Bartlein Rem Varm contour barrel,1:8, 5R chambered by Henry Rempel.

The scope used today is a Leupold VX 11 6 - 18 X 40mm. I will when I get to it, I will put a Leupold FX 25 X 40mm to do the 300M Challenge.

Well here is my failed attempt with my absolutely stock Tikka Tactical 308.

I am shooting a Tikka Tactical 308 with a Falcon Menace 4-14X FFP scope. My load is 44.7gr of Varget in Hornady brass with Federal 210 primers pushing 168gr Sierra Matchkings

Here is my setup

My group sizes are

1- .522"
2- .396"
3- .317"
4- .284"
5- .425"

Average .389"

Small group .284"

And just for your viewing pleasure, here is a better picture if my setup

Snipers Hide Group Target

Does anyone know where the URL to the Snipers Hide Group Target, as seen in post #586, can be found so that it can be downloaded?

This rifle...
AR-10.jpg

...shot this group at 400 yds. High flyer was first round, we figure scope was adjusting from 100yd zero to 400 yd..

Here are the requirements for the challenge:

-take a picture of your rig just as it was when you were shooting the groups. Including what you used for a rest.

-take a picture of your target paper with all 5 groups visible in the picture. The group sizes must be written on the paper beside each group. **The paper must only have the 5 "official" groups on it.

-All groups must be under .500" @ 100 yards/meters

-Take a close up of your smallest group of the 5 with the measurement beside it along with the caliper showing the group size.

-When measuring your groups be sure to measure the groups properly. This is a good example of how to measure your group. Measure the extreme outside spread of your group and then subtract the bullet diameter

-Include your rifle info.

-The target must not have anything laying on it that could be hiding a failed attempt.

-Include your 5 group sizes in your post (sometimes they are to small to read when they are written on the target)

I appreciate you technical(ness). In the spirit of precision shooting I thought this was about accurate rifles. My apologies for the inappropriate(ness) of my post. Won't happen again.

Apologizes for the crappy cell photos.

0.442"
0.281"
0.305"
0.383"
0.480"

Avg: 0.378"

Forgot to take a photo at the range, rifle is a Savage with Shilen barrel in 6BR.

The 0.480" group was the last one, and that shot that dropped out the bottom was the 5th round. Almost gave me a heart attack.
