Well, this has been a pipe dream for the last 6 years and finally had funds to build her. Many thanks to Rocky Mountain Rifles of Dawson Creek, BC for making it a reality.

Parts around $3200. I was collecting parts for 2 years so I don't know the exact tally. The optics, rings and base, well, $2300 as we all know. The labor was quite affordable at $800 (shipping and case included). Grad total of around $6300. In a build like this it was the parts that were the limiting factor. The labor really isn't that much of a concern.

Caliber choice was three fold. First, I wanted to have a long action caliber that has plenty of ammo and data availability. Second, I wanted to keep my rifle calibers to 22 and 30 to limit the need for extra components. And third, because the barrel came up for sale on the EE and the price was right :D.

If you haven't decided on a bullet, I would suggest the 208gr Amax and 210gr Berger.

H1000, Retumbo, Re25 lit by a Fed 215M primer.

My guess that once tuned, you will be looking at 1 to 1 1/4" at 300m 5rds groups.

The ingredients are definitely there....nice rig

Enjoy.
