I had a pair of Rocky boots that were so good when they finally were wore out I bought a new pair. They were awful. My feet were always wet. I followed the instr. With regard to silicone application.
I jumped through the hoops and returned them. I got a new pair different model and did not wear them for a year. My feet are now wetter than with the previous pair. As I never worn them for a year they won't take them back as the receipt is too old. I'm done with that company.
What is a liter weight Gortex boot with maybe 400-500 grams of thinsolate that will keep my feet dry ?

Thanks

I have a pair of Danner Canadians. So far in water, slush, snow and mud they have stayed dry.

Irish setter are OK. Not particularly durable or well made IMO (I've had two different sets). They are waterproof and warm though. I want to tray some Danners but they just don't seem to fit my feet very well.

I love my Irish Setters (Big Game Tracker II). For the average hunter they should last quite a while. Ive had mine for 5 years and they havent had any issues. I`d say I do more walking then most during the fall in them. They are waterproof and very warm.

My elk trackers lasted 3 six month seasons in the Russian arctic. They're a Norewegian welt so I had them resoled and they're still going.

I treated the leather with Sno-seal as it doesn't eat up the threads like silcone nor oversoften the leather like Dubbin. They're still waterproof and warm.

cant go wrong with danner, best boot i have ever worn! they are as comfortable as my favorite pair of running shoes. i have the older 1200 thinsulate gortex, not a fan of the look of this years model.

(Prospector Hunting Boots) made by Danner . I wear these in the winter time hunting deer. One pair of thin socks and my feet are nice and warm.
