My RSM may have a monster infection.

Good point I'm familiar with the MDM, just can't get over that head spacing on the mouth bit as I crimp the crud out of my traveling loads. I think the Gibbs is the brute for me.

And if you were going wildcat instead of classic there would be better cases to neck up. 460 Weatherby or 416 Rigby immediately come to mind. But Georges 505 is the classiest way to go. If you had an RSM in 416 Rigby to go with your H&H and Gibbs you'd be very classically armed indeed.

I'm glad I'm not the only one suffering from this sickness...
I considered re-working my 602 in 375hh to 458 lott but chose to keep the working rifle as it was. I considered the 505 gibbs and 500 jeffery very hard. In the end I went with 470ne in a double with the intent of picking up or building a .500 bolt rifle in the classic british style at some point. .375hh and 470ne are easy to get anywhere.

I have put much thought into what you are discussing and if you do modify the rsm I would have recommended a 500 jeffery single stack feed with extended fixed magazine box holding 3 or 4 down. My only hesitation is the short neck on the brass. Going classic has its compromises.

eta: with either gibbs or jeffery your rsm will balance much nicer if the barrel is profiled correctly

Got my 505 brass and Woodleigh's ready, just waiting on the rifle to arrive...
