I wonder if by 'new shipment' you mean they are taking orders in advance of getting a shipment - they don't actually have stock right now do they?

If S.I.R. has stock and is selling (presumably shooter grade) Russian SKS for $165.99 (plus shipping) that does make the Frontier deal for same at $229 look less enticing (assuming similar delivery dates - I think Frontier is talking April now).

Well... I just completed an online order for x2 from S.I.R. without any additional info.

I have an order in with Frontier for x2 'shooter grade' but I may consider canceling the order based on the significant price difference (need to confirm ETA for delivery dates and equivalent firearm condition first - can't see how SIR's would be any worse than previously issued shooter grade from Frontier).

edit: I've just re-read this thread and if I understand correctly, there is a shipment of Russian SKS en route with ETA for early April - surely the same shipment is the source for both Frontier & S.I.R. -> and out of 500 expected, Frontier will get 'the majority'. However, since the shipment will likely be divided before any 'pre-selection' occurs, the stuff going to S.I.R. is going to include 'collector' grade rifles in the same proportion as Frontier (i.e. 10%/20%/70%). So for $165 (plus tax & shipping) at S.I.R. I have a chance (30%) to get something better than the $229.00 shooter grade deal at Frontier...

Sounds like pretty good odds, doesn't it?:) I'd really like to see a Karabiner S slide out of the box, and maybe pigs will fly too.

LOL.

I am waiting to see if Frontier's price changes. If it does not, SIR will get my hard earned, not an overpriced equivalent at Frontier.

i guess we will have to wait and see , it would be nice if they match the price of SIR but im suspect they will not.

Depending on how many each supplier gets, most of us may be S.O.L at SIR and Frontier may still have a few at the higher price. I am 159th at SIR, but I am wondering if I will get one, considering a lot of guys are buying more then one. Time will tell.

I really don't care about the price, as long as Frontier will guaratee that I will actually have the rifle by April.

Guarantee??? First it was FEB then MARCH now APRIL . This is nothing new . They will arrive some day , There will be a feeding frenzy for a wile till they are all sold out . Then you will see them popping up on the EE for $$$$$
Just look back at the K98's & M1 garands & even the last batch of M14's

feeding frenzy? its about time SKS had its turn.:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

Why not . I'm as guilty as you .Don't really need another SKS but cant pass up the chance for somthing differant . I'm sure if some dealer anounced they was a ship comming to Canada loaded with Cooey 22 single shot rifles . We would have a Cooey feeding frenzy . But we are just a bunch of gunNUTZ .(lol)
