I bought the gun fm the pistol & revolver EE. worked OK for the first 50 rnds.

Next mag I loaded on the third shot she decided to go auto for the next 3 shots. I stripped it down, cleaned the snot out of it, and inspected the sear assembly. I did not find any significantly rounded edges on any parts.

Does anyone have any help, suggestions, ideas etc on this?

Also would M-439 parts be interchangeable with my 39-2?

Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to send the gun to S&W if I can
avoid it.

Tks in adv.

Both the foregoing observations may hold the answer. That would be best. However, in addition, it may be that enough rounds were fired before you got it, that parts that should engage are simply worn. When living in the US, I had a similar problem with a Savage 1907. I was told that this isn't uncommon with them because of wear to their complicated sear linkage. I tinkered, found the worn part, and fixed it. If cleaning does it, good. If the problem persists, you'll have to look at each element of the firing train to determine which one is worn. I don't know which parts from what other models of the 39-series will interchange, but you could probably find out from S&W. Exempting the barrel (export of which is prohibited by the US), you can probably find what you'll need at GunPartsCorp. in New York. I just don't know a source for old S&W parts in Canada. However, the US has gotten really rigid about allowing exportation of gun parts. Hopefully, it just needs cleaning.
