Well always wanted a .223 bolt action for target shooting and varmints loved lots of different guns but being on a budget just couldn't swing 900 to 1200 bucks on a rifle so when I saw this new Savage for 479.00 CDN I jumped on it. Still love the Scout rifle but at least it's short and beefy.

Love the trigger but did not like the stock so I added spray in expanding foam in the buttstock with a counter wieght and added a metal rail and epoxy to the front area. Way beefier than before.

Removed the front sling post added 20mm rails, used a scope I had hanging around still waiting on my new scope, also added a bipod, cheek pad, and muzzle brake.

Love the heft and balance now mind you it is 10.25 lbs but I don't care as I will be benching it or shooting out of vehicle on a private land when shooting at gophers.

So let's see your Hog Hunter builds.

Thanks just waiting on a smaller scope and still looking for some QD rings as well so I can switch to my back up irons if need be. Hoping to get out and try it at 100, 200, and 300 yards. I do know with the 8.25 lb heft and muzzle brake recoil is really nothing no fatique like with my 8mm or 7.62 and shooting lots of rounds plus my 13 yr old son isn't scared of it.

How about I make it easy for everyone so they don't think I cut a hole in my roof for a ringed antiaircraft machinegun turret....

We drive out to a spot set up do some shooting OUTSIDE then pack up and move to a new area.

Everyone feeling better now. :)
