My scope project for the CZ858 is officially belly-up

that's what I meant Mick .. you CANNOT get a FULL SIZE scope over the action .. you know that. We have all seen the mount that was just posted, but it NEVER shows how far over the scope will be offset in ANY pics on the website. Someone had to order one to see if it was offset enough. We both know what it is like to talk to the Russians about what mount works and what won't. What you see above is simply luck of the draw and the balls to order one to see if it works. You and I decided to modify a mount that DOESN'T work for anything but a short scope or red dot. Other than the offset mount that was just posted .. You cannot mount a full size scope without a TON of modification.

:D

Yes that makes sense, I thought you had been smoking weed for a minute.

Any posp scope with the permanent offset mount attatched should work as long as the rail if mounted in the right place, you can see clearly in this pic that it is not over the ejection port....

Here's the problem though - the scope that I ordered looks exactly like the one mounted - its a little offset - but still ends up almost right over the ejection port. So - hows this really that different from just using the mount that flob did and putting any scope on? It would also interfere with using stripper clips.

Quick question Palinak - how do you find the reticle on that scope? I could barely see the reticle on mine - found you would lose it when looking at a dark background (such as grass - or field). But the actual reticle shrinks on a Russkie zoom scope - so maybe its just the zoom ones that are useless.

Mykhalo Illuminated scopes have fine cross hairs as they glow when turned on. If they were not fine the glare would make them unusable in poor light conditions. If you can't see the crosshairs when over a dark background then turn it on and you should be able to see the cross hairs.

As long as the scope leaves enough space for the cases to eject then that's all you need worry about, it needs to be as close as possible to the centre of the action but still allow the case to eject.

Stick the scope onto your action with duct tape and see if the cases eject properly or not, if not you have nothing to worry about. If they do hit it is a simple matter to thicken the rail as I did on mine.

Try it and you will know !
