Here I'd my sniper, err... I mean DMR Vz58 build...

Actually it's not a build, or a "sniper". It's a CSA Vz58 with some sh!t bolted on to it.

Now for super black rifle mode...

Actually, this rig is for this seasons (short) deer season. Almost complete, just need my Blue Force sling that I'm still waiting for.

Basically, it's just stock CSA Vz58 with a Magpul CTR + riser and a Belomo PO 3.5x17.5P strapped to a side mount using cheap Traditions scope rings (it makes using the dials easy... and they're cheap) The FOV isn't too impressive with this scope. I don't like shell deflectors and a small 3.5x magnification scope is all you need for a 7.62x39... Plus I wanted to keep the stripper clip guide accessible (I'm weird that way) A Leatherwood or Primary Arm scope would be choice, but again. I don't like clumsy looking shell deflectors. I also installed a custom modified GG&G AR-15 sling plate for the truck hunting variable.

So far satisfied with it, feels comfortable to handle. But, I will have to see how the short eye relief likes my eye socket.

How she shoot?

It has a date with paper eventually. I did a reliability test of 500 rounds with various types of ammo. No problems (unlike my other Vz.58)

I like my rifles clean and purposeful. Looking to add a vertical grip or AFG... Although I'm not too convicted it's necessary. Perhaps a stubby vertical grip will aide in ease of carry.

Just a question about the stock adapter. Is that the factory CSA stock adapter with a slight down tilt? It looks straight in the picture but I can't tell if that's from the riser on the stock making it look different.

Standard CSA adapter/tube... the angle is not a problem for me.

Modified sling plate:

All I need now is some flip up lens covers for 1" outside diameter.

How she shoot?

Took it to the range today for a sight in and it shoots damn decent for a semi-auto in 7.62 Soviet. Average 2 MOA with Hornady SST, PPU, and S&B. Not too shabby as my expectations were quite low. Better trigger and I could probably shrink the groups a tad more.

But... I had a problem with the scope. It lost zero. The set screws that attach the turrets to the body loosened. Fixed it up with some blue Loctite and careful tightening.

I can't figure out if the scope is in mils or minutes. The instruction manual is in Russian. I am guessing it's minutes as the dial goes from 0 to 12 in quarter increments (1, 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, 2... etc) zero to twelve MOA?

Anyone speak Russian and willing to translate? These scope dials are quite new to me.
