My second retrofitted Enfield is done

Beautiful wood on that rifle.
Where'd you find such a lovely stock set?

Good job on the reclamation, you're doing God's work ;)

Hi Skippy,

The wood didn't look that nice when I received it. I order my wood from Springfield Sporters, their prices are great. The wood need lots of work though - they apparently come from drill rifles, so fit and finish isn't perfect. Roughly three or four hours spend on these. (Cleaning, some sanding especially on the forend, fitting, staining, then boiled linseed oil...)

Great way to spend my winter evenings :)

Thanks guys. Indeed a good way to spend long evenings around here.

Oh and Dantforth, you then probably know that pointers are the best dogs... if you have a forest and farm field behind your house for it to run! :)

Well Done!
I know exactly how much work this stuff is.

Nice to see her come back to the fray.
Get her out to a vintage service rifle competition asap!

Nice work. I would like to see before and after pics if possible.

i'm going to do a #4 project this spring once I get home.

Thanks Big Guy.

I didn't think of taking pics of before, but I will for the next project, promised. So a tutorial is on the way!

I can see the title: "How to retrofit a Bubba'ed Lee Enfield in 24 (not so) easy steps.

As far as I am concerned desporterizing classics and selling them on the exchange is community service.

Great looking pooch.

I wonder/hope that in 60 70 years that people will be putting classic musclecars etc back to stock. Unpimping my ride sort of. I also have a theory
that the urge to bubba/pimp is a genetic disorder. The impulse to inflict a home-made montecarlo stock with woodburnings of bears and pine trees onto a SMLE or to think a classic Chevelle looks good with 24 inch chrome donk spinners has to be some kind of horrible genetic mistake.

Maybe we will even be able to eleminate the "bubbapimp" gene altogether.
