My shooter SVT-40 project, purest be warned.

4307: In 1974 (actually a bit before that) I had the idea of starting a farm tractor salvage yard. The banks poo-poo'd my idea. Most people thought I was nuts. Most of the big shot business people in my small town snickered at me. I forged on, and twenty years later sold out after a good, successful run. I got some really good advice from another old wrecker. Quite a few of the big shots ended up crashing and burning.

Don't be afraid to seek advice from someone in a business similar to yours. Some of the best ideas came from people I least expected. Have fun!

LOP designed for malnourished Russians is what's been holding me back from buying an SKS, although the laminate stocks are real purty
(Also, I can't justify the cost of a plastic stock for a $200 rifle)

The SKS has surpassed every other gun I've had where reliability is concerned.

Not knocking the quality guys, if it's as reliable and accurate as my TT33 then it's a great value. But I have orangutan arms and the sks just isn't comfortable to shoulder

Buy a rubber slip on butt extension, problem solved They cost under $10.
 
Sorry, I've been away from the gun community for a bit. Baby, job loss, life had redirected my focus.

The SVT/SVD-40 stock project is on hold for the time being. I was going to produce this stock, had a shop, was ready to go, when I was forced to move out due to zoning changes. Ive been looking for affordable shop space for over a year now.

My startup capital was diluted due to job loss forcing me to pause this project.

I had no idea people are really interested in this stock. Ive been flooded with requests, which makes it very frustrating for me.

All that stands between building these stocks is shop space. I don't have a garage. My basement is filled to the brim with metal shop machines and tools. I've stopped my subcontracting metal fabrication because I'm lacking shop space to weld and take larger money making jobs. Its a catch 22 situation. I have registered with a Small Business grant program, but only a chosen few are picked from the bunch. I have my fingers crossed for miracle.

The machine to make these stocks is built, ready to go. I even have the Baltic Birch to run test stocks off the machine, and enough to start build orders.
I have not ditched this project. I'm trying to figure out how to make it happen.

I anyone in the Kitchener area has shop space available please PM me.
