My shorty mosin and homemade scope mount

This is my 1942 mosin
Cut barrel down to 19 inch
I cut the rear sight base down flat but left a bit of a channel for square bar to sit in.
I cut it out of 1/2 x 1/2 square stock and welded it in.
Screwed a random rail I had on the steel base I drilled and taped it. And threw on my trs25.

I had it out last weekend. My buddy and I had clays out at 300y, hitting them rather easily. Maybe chopping the barrel helped with accuracy? Who knows. One of my fav range toys now.

How is the recoil on that ? I gave up on shooting milsurp, the recoil really hurt my head, usually get a headache after long day of shooting them.

Cutting down the barrel gave it a bit less recoil. It's not to bad to shoot but will still take its toll on your shoulder after awhile.
