My SKS Build

So here is my SKS build for ya all. Jut thought mayboe someone would have some input for even more improvements i could make.

I started out with a factory norc sks cerca 1964 and turned it into this:

on there I have an ati 6 position folding stock. ncstar green laser and i threw on a tac light i had laying around. also a ncstar muzzle break and a fab defence gripod(forward gril that breaks out to a bipod.

enough talk here is more pics. oh and i'm still waiting for my reciever cover with rails so i can throw my scope on it.

so what do ya all think?

Nice work. I personally don't like modded SKSs, being more of a fan of old-school rifles, but this is a nice job.

Should have been posted in "red rifles" though.

but it's not red anymore it's black! tell ya what me andf ms.sks will go again u and your ar and see who wins. i bet it'll be a draw lol. also i got a norc sks so that i wouldn't ruin a beautiful russian one lol

it still doesn't classify as black rifle. If it did I could paint an enfield black and screw a vert grip to it.


I still like it though.

I wouldn't recommend the receiver cover for a scope mount. It wiggles around a fair bit and therefore a poor zero retention system. Best to drill and tap or mount to rear sight.

And I think an AR would school an sks in most comparisons, as long as the shooters were equal.

But i dont know much. so who knows.

Did that originally have a blade bayonet on it?

technically yes but the guy i bought it from said it never had one. this gun has had half a dozen owners i know of, but was never fired that i know of till i got it. extremely good shape. i'm pretty happy with it.

It's not a Norinco. If, in fact, it's actually a Factory 26 gun (the only factory that can be reliably dated) made in 1964, it's a collectible Chinese military SKS. Not a POS Norinco mixmaster special.

true it's not a norc but according to teh cfc it is. I kept trying to tell them it's a type 56 but they said that's not a recognised manufacturer and that is had to be a norinco. so my reg cert says norinco on it.

and as for it being a collectable. for the price i paid they gun either didn't know it was or just didn't care cuzi got it dirt cheap. and in teh long run i don't even care. it's a tool i play to use not a tophey to put on a shelf. i've had it a little ofver a month and have almost fired 500 rounds through her. flawless i may add.
