My SKS from MilArm

Is the chrome bore really that much more superior ? I understand the corrosion factor, which does not really matter since everything else on the SKS is Not chromed so has to be cleaned right away after firing corrosive ammo anyway. Is there any other reasons that make a chrome bore better ?

Resists erosion (wear) better than a non chrome bbl.

Rear sight

Make sure the rear sight is all the way down. Mine came on the battle notch which is more of a volley shot IIRC around 300yrds.
The last position, all the way against the stop gets you on a small step which is the "battle sight setting".
Then, if you carefully push the slider just a tad towards the front, you'll reach the 100 meter mark. Notice that the slider drops down a small amount.
The "battle setting" was a quick way to get the sight ready for the most useful distance by pulling the slider all the way without having to watch what you were doing. To maximize hit probability, you held your point of aim midway up a running man.
PP.

How so?
Yugos don't have chromed barrels. Also much of the after market stuff, and stocks out there will not work with them.
They like them in the USA as that is pretty much all they can get right now.

Beside the chromeless barrel, the rest is better in everyway, even grouping...Why would you want to put aftermarket parts on an M59/66 anyways?

I'm not convinced about accuracy differences, but I will agree on that it is has much nicer woodwork then the Chinese versions. :D

at a way higher price (50% higher) .

for the difference in price, i could replace the wood on my norc with a monte carlo and still have money left over to buy 200-300 rounds of ammo. :shotgun:

very nice yugo...but that model is twice the price.

with the difference i could buy crate of ammo. :shotgun: :shotgun: :shotgun:

Ferrari can make a Lada car, but it will still be a Lada. And accuracy report done by surplusrifle.com has shown Chinese models to actually be more accurate. There is nothing so great about a yugo VS a norinco, especially when some earlier chinese models where made with russian parts.

Took it out to the range today. Its shooting to the right definatley, but I can get great shots at 50yards, and at 100 its doing pretty well. I need more practice tho, but I can hit the paper.

I need to get a cleaning rod, will a .30 CAL rod work?

I've own both & I can tell ya that it had nicer groups (Probably because the M59/66 is heavier & feels beefier)...over all for the price tag..I still got both rit of them..

Get a CZ 858 instead :p
