Alright, im pretty excited, I know nothing about guns and this is my first rifle. I took her apart to clean it up and put it back together. With no parts left over !!!w:h:. Its a laminated stock 1954 Tula. Looks absolitely mint.

And yes, I know I am not a photographer!

Nice rifle!

I just got my PAL as well, and the first gun I bought was an SKS from Lever Arms. Mine is a refurb 1954 Izzy. Can't wait to shoot it. Did you find much gunk in your rifle? I haven't taken mine apart yet, but it appears very clean.

Mine was unfired so it was swimming in cosmoline, cleaning it is half the fun!

Nice

That is a very wise choice for a first rifle, lotsa fun and cheap to shoot! Your sks looks alot like mine with the laminated stock and hardwood gas tube cover. It has been refurbished at some point, also a nice feature if your gonna shoot it cause they may have replaced some parts with new ones.

You did well, enjoy!!!

No idea but it matches the starting two numbers on the bottom that are ruined by frankenpinning. Its better than I expected for $298.20 including tax and shipping for a laminated stock. I really like the darker color too, and all the numbers match. One question though, is there any way to stop the cleaning rod from rattling?

Good eyes, I didnt even see that. What is with that, who brought those in?

you did very well...

Yep and 6 days from phone order to my front door! Now all I need is a couple of .22 (rifle and handgun) and im done for the year.

Now can you explain it again in retard terms? BBL? o-ring?

guess he means a small rubber (O) ring, like the ones you'll find in the plumbing section of the hardware store.
There are different sizes, and once you get them over the barrel, just between the barrel and cleaning rod, your problem will be solved.
Another way would be to put a small o ring over the cleaning rod to prevent it from rattling, that's how I would do it.
