i recently bought an sks and the gas pistol pin has been bashed! i am wondering can i find a replacement in any hardware store? if yes, please give me some detail information as to what to get...thx.

you mean piston pin?? the one that locks the piston and the upper hg down, the one with a leaf spring that is in the side of the rear sight. if so check with leverarms , they sell spare parts.

I do not recall where I read this but apparently you can use a nail cut down to size. Hope we are thinking of the same part
