Caleb, we appear to be having a little miscommunication happening here. China Sport sold lead tip (soft point) ammo as proper hunting ammunition. It looks the same as the milsurp ammo except for the lead tip, meaning it's lacquered steel casing with a copper jacketed, lead tipped projectile. If you try a commercial soft point hunting bullet, a magnet will NOT stick as it's copper jacket over a lead core, meaning there is no ferrous metal. A magnet WILL stick to a China Sport bullet meaning that it IS steel core with a copper jacket and therefore will not expand as a proper commercial hunting bullet will. Where have you seen "steel jacket" ammo? To the best of my knowledge, no one ever made bullets with a steel jacket as that will just wear down the rifling at a furious rate.
