my sks not cycling at all!!

I just bought a used Yugo sks off of another CGN and it will not cycle at all.
I load up the mag and drop the bolt and it fire off one round as it should.

Then the bolt doesn't move back at all, no shell is ejected. It just stays locked up tight as if it is a bolt gun.

Then if I manualy pull back the bolt the shell ejects and a new one will be loaded. But there is no semi-!! In semi-auto.

What the problem, I appreciate any help. thanks,

Check and make sure the gas system has not been turned off. There is a spring loaded button on the gas tube. Check to see which position it's in.

i have a sks with the same problem but i think mine is a norinico it says made in china so i dont know? does anyone know how to fix it? could the gas piston just be seized up?

A friend of mine got a good deal on one of these at a gun show for this very reason. The owner knew it wouldn't cycle and thought it was screwed so sold it cheap to my friend who took it home, discovered the problem and rejoiced in his good fortune.

cant have the same problem bud cos you dont have a GL so no shut off valve.

if its new then do what clob said , clean the port hole and the gas tube good .

if it used , make sure the gas rod extension is in place.
