My SKS

Looks good.. I just converted one of mine with a Tapco stock changing the magazine and all and after seeing your pic I am thinking of going back original plus I can use my clips again which now I can' due to the scope I placed on it. It did take the pounds off but I don't intend to do a lot of walking around with it and I do guess why one has a sling.

Tapco magazines with the original stock allow the use of a rail and scope such as the Magwedge or Matador. Just a thought. Nice looking rifle, OP.

Nice. What kind of a base and optics are you using, how well does it hold it's zero?

Thanks, the base is an NCstar tri cover rail and the optic is a holosun 503c

Thanks for the likes.

I just got back from the range which makes it the second time i fired it since i bought it last April. The first time i shot it i put 40 rds of barnaul 123g, today i shot 120rds of the same stuff. The first time i shot it it was shooting low and right but i didnt have the sight adjustment tool so i tried to compensate and got a decent group, nothing to brag about. Since then i bought the tool and install the base and stole/borrowed the optic from my Beretta CX4 Storm (sorry i still love you lol) so i first got it sighted in with the irons sights first at 10-12 yds then at 25 and i was golden. i then tried the same procedure with the holosun and worked out great till about the 15th shot and the scope mount itself not the base that attaches to the receiver cover started wiggling and thats my own fault because i didnt loctite them in however the base part did not move at all so i am going to say that once i locktite those two little screws that hold down the scope mount it will be great. Either way i shot over 100 rds with just the iron sights and i was i quite impressed with what i managed in at par lighting.
I can say i really enjoyed shooting it today and i am planning to shoot it again soon!!!

its gonna be a beauty once i get loctite on the screws

here are my results at 25 yds 30 rds with the iron sights

After much research I found this to be the best mount if you just plan on running a red dot on your SKS. It is the Matador Razor and it is solid as a ROCK. There are no screws to come loose and has a back up sight feature built in. Doesn't interfere with takedown and you can still use stripper clips.
