My Sling Review

Gents,

I got this sling as a gift from a friend a few days ago (Eine Stuk !) that was ordered from One Shot.

Wow

I tried it today on my 700P...

What a nice setup.

One Shot Rocks !

One thing I might comment on. I have used one of the slings on my rifle for a number of years. I have three of them of which two were original T&E variants that I won out of the states. One one very cold hunting trip in November, I has the sling set up to go. I had the rifle slung when I notice an animal and got down to do the business. The male end of the fastex buckle got caught on my pack and snapped off with little pressure applied. I was surprised how quickly it snapped off. As with plastic, it might have been that lot or the material. In any case, I now religiously put the elastic cover over the mail and female buckles in an effort to protect them. It is the weakness in the set up and requires monitoring by the operator.

Cheers

Jeff

How does the sling attach to the rifle? My stock has the studs installed, but no rings for a sling to loop around or clip onto.

The sling comes with the QD swivels sown into the sling. Just "clip" it on the the studs in the stock.

Thanks mildot ! It was great of you to post a picture along with the explanation. It was one of those "I know I'm going to sound stupid for asking" kinda questions, but now I know.

$11 for shipping a sling Canada Post ground is a bit steep. It'll be interesting to see what Canada Post actually charged when the package arrives. $4.00? I know it's small potatoes, but since I can rarely source anything locally, inflated shipping has become one of my pet-peeves.

Kinda unrelated but I'm "feeding" on your Canada Post bashing. I had a buddy in the US tell me that US Mail charges 95 cents for a MO. Canada Post and the banks are $5.00. Buddy sent a package US Priority Mail from NY to CA, 2 days delivered!. Cost $4.00.

While I'm on the topic I had a parcel come expedited the other day. Buddy doesn't even attempt the delivery he gives it to the postman to put in the mailbox and just writes down the day:mad: . I have to go the next day after 1pm to pick the parcel up at the post office. I've complained 3 times but it stills keeps happening. Go figure. :bangHead:

On another note. Buddy "buzz's" me saying I have a parcel:eek: . I tell him I'll let him in. He says no come on down? . I get down stairs and he's putting mail in the boxes for the apartment. He tell me its his first day on this route and to give him a break? This guy is in his 40's 50's. I guess it must have been his first day delivering mail too:puke: .

Canada Post shipping Expidited with tracking number is quite a bit.

Here are a few examples.

A sling and two panels for the CIRAS to Calgary was $12.09

A shoulder holster to Calgary was $11.46

SOC-C sling to Edmonton was $11.46

Team Canada stickers to Petawawa was $8.26

Our shipping costs usually exeed the $11 we charge and not charging for shipping would increase product costs.

oh about the shipping.....I sent one Ruger mag to the TO area cost me $10 and I live 4 hours from there.....
