I'm toying with the idea to make one of these sniper carbine set ups on my early Chinese SKS. And if all goes well, my wifes later model Chinese SKS as well.
(pic fix by Klunk.)
I can see that it is a Mosin PU sniper scope, but I have no idea what the scope mount is.
I would also need the cheek rest.
What I like about this set up is:
- It's original and designed for the SKS ergonomics.
- Scope is not mounted on the wiggly receiver cover.
- Does not interfere with cleaning.
- Scope does not interfere with iron sights use.
- Does not cover the serial numbers on the left side of the receiver like some other mounts do.
- Scope is out of the way for ejecting brass.
- Scope is out of the way for stripper clip use.
So I need to know where I can find the scope, the mount (or something close to it), and the cheek rest.
I'm not concerned about the trigger guard at this time.
So my fellow SKS addicts put your heads together and give me some sources/ideas.
