Hi everybody
My son will turn 16 in May,he had a minor licence and a hunting licence since he was 14 years old. I want to know if from May when he turns 16 we can go together hunting each one with their own gun. My son with his rifle and I with my rifle.

I think he is asking: when his son turns 16 will they both be able to carry guns while hunting. Son already has minors licence.

Sorry, not sure about Quebec hunting regs...You should be able to find it online somewhere. (I assume you are from Quebec, non.)

son

If your son has a minor's licence, and a hunting licence, he can carry his own hunting rifle suitable for the WMU area you are going to hunt.

Minor's licence can be issued at 15 years of age. Hunting licence can be taken by passing the course.

You still have to be close by if he is hunting as he is not allowed to hunt alone.

Sorry for my poor English,my question is if we can go togather I with a shotgun and the boy with another shotgun

Well if you put it that way.

sons birthday if in May shotgun can carry if open season on shotguns but must not be accompanied by he doesn't know who

This is extremely uncool to make fun of people who might not have English as first language. Last I heard Quebec is part of Canada - Canadiangunnutz includes Quebec gunnutz.

Boys.. boys... boys... is this really necessary....?!? Atleast Corneluc is trying to ask a legetimate question. So what his language is not perfect... Whatever.... In French you can "have lived so many years... not actually BE that many years". Give the guy a break!

Whammy, Newbie and Beefman... thank you for the respectful comments and helpful link. It's nice to know there are some gentleman in this forum...

Cornluc.. Je pense... tu auras tes réponses sur le site en haut... belle journée.

Pfffffst.......I think his English is alot better than some english guys have writing skills around here.

How about the guys making fun of gramatical errors post a few pics of themselves on here, I'm pretty sure things would be reversed now wouldn't they?

Congratulations on your Son's birthday!! From what I was able to find on the CFC website your son could possess a firearm on his own since he was 12:

"A Minors' Licence will enable young people to borrow a non-restricted rifle or shotgun for approved purposes such as hunting or target shooting. Generally, the minimum age is 12 years, but exceptions may be made for younger people who need to hunt to sustain themselves and their families. Applicants must have taken the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and passed the test. The fee to renew a minor’s licence is waived until May 16, 2009. "

Every province is different, here in AB my son could come along and shoot my deer or grouse if he wanted at age 12, at age 14 he could carry his own rifle and buy his own youth tag, shoot his own deer but he still had to be supervised. At 16 he was good to go without me.

Not making fun of anyone. Although I am having a little fun with Onagoth. There is NO indication that he is from Quebec. So, I am also not belittling anyone from Quebec.
If I have broken any rules, I apologize, but I don't think this is the case.

It is not about we "MAKE" you "APOLOGIZE" because there is a "RULE" broken.

It is about making others feel uncomfortable to participate because of language skill. Maybe the person is not from Quebec, perhaps he or she is Polish, Serbian, Indian......some new immigrants who are actually part of the firearms community and not perfect in English. That's not a good way to gain support from a growing part of the population.

Well then, I DON'T apologize. I wasn't belittling anyone. I was directing my posts to ONAGOTH.
Now if the original poster would have stated where he/she was from I may have been able to HELP him/her.

So, Cornelunc, where you from. I'll help you out.
