My Springfield M1A came from the factory with a Boyd's stock.

I just received by brand new Springfield M1A Standard with a walnut stock. When I stripped her down for the first time today, I was surprised to see the inside of the stock clearly stamped as Boyd's along with a date stamp. Is this normal? Is Springfield contracting with Boyd's to provide factory stocks? I'm new to the M1A game so any info is appreciated,

Yes Boyds has a contract to build them. They used to use surplus stocks before along with usgi parts
