My SR-22 on the EE - am I priced too high?

Hi guys, so I've been trying to sell my SR-22 on the EE for quite some time now and am quite surprised that no one has picked her up yet. She's got $600 worth of upgrades/parts from Dlask, Magpul, VQ, Kidd, Tactical Innovations, etc. Do you think what I listed it at is high or fair? Normally I see SR-22's on the EE sell like hotcakes so just curious if you think I've priced the package fairly or maybe I should part it out (I'd prefer not to)? Maybe no one likes SR-22's anymore, haha? I'm seriously considering a job offer down south so am looking to liquidate a ton of stuff.

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Someone my want a SR-22 but not willing to pay for all the extras, they may not want, and so they will wait for a plain one. That's what I'd do, anyways. Just my 2 cents worth.

Lot's of alternatives out there, if I would be in the market right now, I'd rather go with the new 10/22 Marauder kit. Best is always to take off the additional parts and sell them separate.

Looking at your ad, I noticed that you are not including the original 16" barrel; it's not fair to charge for the Dlask barrel when you have removed the original barrel (all new firearms come with barrels).

A New SR22 is $550 as you mentioned...

Firearms in most situations are not an investment, like cars you're going to lose money when you sell.

I also notice that the sights are not part of the deal, not an issue, but the buyer will need shell out more $$$ for sights.

Remove all internal upgrades (Volq stuff, kidd stuff, etc.)
Remove the AFG2
Keep your mags but include the original 10rnd mag and $600 should be an easy sell with all the Dlask stuff on it... you could hold out and maybe get $650 for it. Any more and you are waiting for months.

$825 is way too much... as mentioned someone might as well just build up their own rifle, the way "they like."

My 2cents :)

BTW I sold my SR22 as you see it for $500... it sold within the hour ;)

everyone wants top dollar for their 10/22's. If they are used , dont expect all your money that you invested. Part it out and you may get the most out of it.
BTW, G37, whoever bought yours got a good deal with short barrel and top rail added, thats why it sold

When I parted mine out, I kept the receiver and barrel ... sold the nordic kit and magpul gear separate. There was more of a demand for the accessories than a whole custom rifle at the time. And this way I was able to build a smaller, lighter rifle in the end.

Awesome advice, thanks! To be honest I did not think of the barrel point you mentioned and that makes perfect sense! Ashamed I failed on that. I will adjust accordingly.

Curious, why would you suggest removing internal parts like the edge extractor and auto bolt release? These seem like must-haves for this platform, no?

I'll remove the Magpul AFG2 and Miad grip and put the factory Hogue grip back on.

Good point as well on BUIS for potential buyer.

Yes, I know all about losing "investment" on this hobby/obession, haha!

Thanks for all the great advice! You people on CGN rock.

As other have said I'd return the SR-22 to original/stock condition and sell the accessories seperately. While it's a bit more work, on the plus side you might actually get a little more $$$$ for your effort.

I'd echo what others have said here. You take a hit every time you sell a gun, just a fact of life. Simply being a private seller means everything is considered "used", whether you even shot it or not. With every add-on/accessory, you narrow down the # of people who will be interested in buying it. I'm no SR22 fan, but I know my first reaction is; "Wait...what does a new one cost again?" Having learned the hard lesson about resale values, it now governs how I shop for extras.

Wait long enough, and you MIGHT find someone willing to pay. Otherwise, offer it with, and without all the add-ons (as in, be prepared to put all the original parts back in) and see what happens. I'm sure you could move all the accessories easily enough if it came to that. Otherwise, adjust the price.

Good luck!

Hopefully she'll find a new home soon :)

I adjusted the listing and price, thanks for all the advice! I chose to leave the Dlask external parts on and VQ/Kidd internals in so hopefully someone sees the value in those few components.

Anyone need some Magpul stuff now? Haha

Thanks again, friends!

I got some great advice.

Don't advertise outside of the EE.

Not very classy posting your ad outside of the EE going look at me please buy........kinda.....against the rules.

Good call thanks for that, was not my intention to be the car salesman! Links removed.

Entire thread is one big advertisement......link to EE post or not.

FAIL.

Are you a mod??

He has posted a genuine question. No where in the thread is he asking for money for the right answer or the for the purchasing of the product.

If it was in fact a "for sale thread" the mods would have closed it by now.

I had no problem with it...made it easy to find so we know what he's talking about. Didn't seem like a for sale thread to me.

I have a nordic ar22 in the EE right now, think i am over priced, even though the sights and RDS are worth over 400 dollars....Might just part it out...any interest???

Yes... I thought it was an Aimpoint Micro for the price you were asking (which would have been awesome) ;)

The other thing with selling that I've experienced is that the more money you pour into something, the more you lose come selling time. Damn this hobby... ultimately one toy always ends up funding the next.

It was a legit question??? Didn't seem like an advertisement at all to me either???

What I have noticed is more and more post whores and trolls seem to float in and out of these threads more than anything....f:P:2:
