My SR-22 on the EE - am I priced too high?

I got some great advice.

Don't advertise outside of the EE.

Not very classy posting your ad outside of the EE going look at me please buy........kinda.....against the rules.

I see links to EE ads in people's sig line all the time... no big deal. This guy had an honest question and I think you should leave the moderation advice up to the actual mods.

But hey,... i guess they call us "big mouth" for a reason whaa?

Saw a BNIB Remington 597 listed for $600 with a couple spare mags. New over the counter they're $200 all day long. Lots of rifles with asking prices well above new-with-warranty prices. Modifications rarely increase value, as it simply duplicates a process that was already being done by the stock part. Scopes DO add value, but never more than the scope is worth. Everything else was purchased to make YOU happy, so remove it and sell them individually so someone else can be happy (and you can sell your toy).

I'm pretty new to it all, but sometimes a fresh objective is what's needed. Just my opinion.

Id have to say that I agree with the guys who mentioned the idea of taking all the upgrades/aftermarket parts off and just selling the bare SR. I was in the market a while ago for a SR-22 myself and ended up getting a fairly decent deal out of it. I paid 450 shipped for the stock SR with about a brick through it. The closest place to me sells them for 600 and then add 13% you have quite the hefty tag for a bone stock semi .22. When I decided to buy a SR I already had my build planned in my mind. Exactly what sight I was going to put on, where I was going to get my rails from, what kind of foregrip I wanted and all that good stuff. I wanted something that no one else had. I think selling it stripped down to the basics allows the buyer the freedom or creativity whereas buying an already set up 22 kind of limits them to what is on it, unless of course coins are not an issue then I cant see why they just wouldnt buy a new one. Parting out isnt a terrible idea you never know who might be looking for just a single part. Anyways thats my ten cents worth.

Speaking of "not very classy". Guy asks if he's priced his gun too high and it turns into him trying to push his overpriced gun down everyones throats so some one will HAVE to buy it? Maybe you could start watching the EE and see how many times people delete then repost 2 days later just to stay on top. Do us all a favour and start policing that sh*t, not someone trying to figure out what he's doing wrong. ;)

Edit to original post complete, thanks Curtton for the guidance.

Thanks again to all who offered sincere advice and constructive criticsm. I appreciate your experience on the EE which is obviously greater than mine. I'd like to think that being able to ask a question as I did only contributes to better, more informed and fair sellers...and of course more happy and satisfied buyers! Anyhow, I learned something and am grateful for that - Mambo out.

It's just nice to see someone looking for feedback to see if they are priced too high. I have seen some items in EE that are priced used, showing wear, missing parts that would come with a new one and they're priced HIGHER than new... yeah... spend more money on a used gun with fewer accessories.
