50yds ... .22lr ... Offhand ... 25rds.

Clear sky ... no wind and still breaking in the barrel and using iron sights only.

noob question, how/where did you pick up the mags? I'm thinking of picking up and sr-22 but I definatly prefer the larger mags to the really skinny ones that most 22s have.

The mag pictured is an Pmag from magpul, and it's just glued to the bottom of a standard 10rd ruger 10/22 magazine. I got the ideas from ronkytonk who did the same to his. I don't like the look of the banana/skinny mags myself, that's why I copied him.

If you do go for the skinny ones, get ones with steel lips (tactical innovations or butler creek)

Yikes, I hope that's the shooter and not the gun, a 12 gauge will pattern that well with the right choke and buckshot at 50 yards.

:p lol .. yeah that was just me for the most part. It says no wind but I was weaving around like there was. Once the barrel is properly broken in. I'll try again but from a rest this time.

Try from a rest AND
try with the barrel rest you have previously removed.
If you don't have one that matches .920" barrels,
it doesn't mean it will shot ok without one anyway.

So, with the CTR stock, is that the commercial or milspec version? Or, more appropriately, what stock needs to be used on the SR as it comes from the factory, as I see you mention a milspec tube in your parts list...

Yup. I modified my existing block to fit the barrel. I took off 3/8 approx of material and now fits well and shoots straight. Took it out again today and put 20 all in the rings in gusting wind. Don't think the barrel is broken in yet but still works well.

The one on the rifle is a milspec tube and a milspec CTR stock body. The original was also milspec according to manufactures specs, but never bothered to try the CTR on it seeing that it was one of the original fixed "adj" stock that came out when they were first released in Canada. But I know the OEM retainer ring fit onto my milspec stock tube with no rattle or play.

Hmmm, good point. P&D fitted my adjustable stock for me, so obviously would have put a new buffer tube? Guess I'd have to ask them if it's milspec or commercial... short of taking the stock off myself...

Todays Range Pics ...

Took these today ...

I decided on trying out a scope on my SR22. I slapped a 3-9x40 NCStar onto it, boresighted it and off to my private range for testing.

First up was the 25yd ...

Found out it shoots straight, and as accurate as it gets for now. I still need to run a few hundred more rounds and several cleanings before I get it thoroughly broken in.

First, super build. Very similar to what I want to accomplish, except probably with an ACOG type clone on top.

So I'm in the process of trying to order a tube and stock from Blaxsun myself... (gotta love having the Magpul pimp in town!). But I'm afraid I might be retarded, because I don't know the exact wording of what I need to order.

If I'm asking for a MOE stock (mil-spec) and a mil-spec buffer tube (?) along with an AR wrench(?), will I get what I need to make my SR-22 stock adjustable? And whats the difference between a buffer tube and an extension tube?

Thanks guys.

Yes.

And I believe the extension tube is the same as a buffer tube.

hey, I was speaking to dlask today and they are going to create a block for .920 barrels, until then I am not going to order the barrel because the stock block won't fit and they suggested it should not be run with no block at all

I was told the same, do not free float .920 barrels for the SR.

As for the barrel block. I just ground mine down, made sure the groove was level and reinstalled on the rifle. Works fine.

Nice build. I've got an SR22 coming and I'm definitely stealing your JB Weld-o-mag idea, it looks great. Did you have to modify either the magpul or the 10 round rotary in any way before you stuck them together? I can see that I'm going to have some fun making mine just the way I want it!

It wasn't my idea, as much as I'd like to take credit for .. lol. I got the idea myself from "ronkytonk". I believe he originally came up with the idea.

The lips of the pmag fit into the recessed bottom of the OeM mag rather well. All I had to do was make sure it was straight and even. Then a little bit of filing in front of the 10rd mag where is meets the pmag to get it to lock properly. I'll drop a picture in here when I get off from work to show you what I mean.
