Hi,

My Stag arms AR15 bolt catch just broke. You can see in pics that the bolt catch seem hollow/empty. This part look like cheap MIM metal. I just wish that my part is the exception and I was just not lucky......

That Probably wouldn't have happened if you bought a Nork:stirthepot2:

Seriously tho, I'm surprised to see that its a hollow part. Makes you wonder what other parts are like that.

I suspect it's an anomaly. It is not supposed to be hollow and the casting seam on it tells me it's likely not MIM - probably lost-wax cst. Sometimes you get air bubbles in castings - it happens.

Buy another and forget about it. Bolt stops sometimes break, but it's not a common occurence.

I agree

I got a response from Arms East about Stag warranty.

They told me that Stag lifetime warranty is only for complete rifles but they Will gladly replace it if I send back the broken part.

+1 for Arms East. They stand behind what they sell. That's the right way to deal with customers.

Thanks

That's great they're replacing the part, but what exactly does "only for complete rifles" mean? That's a confusing statement.

AR's are but a collection of parts and it's not very likely that everyone of them would fail.

Te Stag lifetime warranty do not apply to separate parts as they could be used with non Stag parts. If you buy lower part kit, it's not under warranty by Stag....if you buy a complete rifle (all Stag), Stag lifetime warranty apply to rifle.

Anyway who ever replace parts, as long as you get your new part..... You'll be happy :)

So if you haven't purchased a complete rifle, any Stag parts you may buy separately are completely unwarranted?
