My Sterling TSR build

what worries me is they "say" they will reverse the oic so even if they do the modern sporter was not included in the oic so will they even bother to revert the changes in FRTs made after the fact

FRT is not a legal document, stop worrying about pointless literature.

wow the cry babies in this thread...... Man the phuck up already.
Or go find another thread to troll with your need to "advise" others on what they should or should not do.

The FRT is not law, Trudeau is a spineless ####-tator and his attack on gun owners only succeeds if gun owners allow it to.
Trudeau and his gun grabbers can kiss my @ss
you guys wanna "advise" me on how using that kind of language on the internet will just make me a target?
Hope it does, me and my lawyer are ready.

There are infact TSR receivers on the FRT list, depending which model this is specifically, will determine whether it is legal or LEGAL to own and use. If you disagree with the RCMP assuming the role of writing law, you ought to stop trying to write them yourself. Until a representative of the law in Canada can point to a written law that one is in breech of, one is not in breech of the law in Canada. Now do I care about the ethics of our nation more than they're worth? Maybe more than some.

Again, the FRT is not a legal document. If the tsr were listed at the theatres it would mean the same thing. NOTHING.

being manly has nothing to do with it.
Having a set of manly parts might?
Trudeaus gun grab will be defeated it just need to be attacked at the right angle. When that door opens, I will be legally prepared
I should mention that I am indigenous , I should also mention that there were no consultations with "my people" prior to Trudeau's decision to act the way he has and this is contrary to the laws of the land. My friend Laurence Knowles was taking this fight to the government as one of the OIC court challengers but he sadly lost his life to the sea he loved this past March. I will honor my friend's death and carry on his fight on the same grounds..... to do otherwise would be unthinkable to me.

No they are prohibited.

Factually incorrect.
The Sterling TSE is a rip off the the ATRS Modern Sporter.
The ATRS Modern Sporter never was (nor ever will be) an AR 15..... the receivers will never interchange -not in a million years.

The AT-15 (which is/was a milspec AR 15) that was made by the good folks at ATRS was the on the May 1st OIC ..... the Modern Sporter was not... I don't recall seeing the ATRS Modern Hunter on the list for that matter.

The RCMP changed the FRT for the ATRS MS in Mid May 2020..... but so what anyway the FRT is not law. Full Stop.

I made my conclusion because the only thing saying that it's prohibited is a list (the FRT) which only businesses have access too, and which I don't. So how can they expect me to know for sure that it's prohib? No publicly available info, including anything on the RCMP site, shows it's prohib.

Also factually incorrect.
About half way down the page you see a link for access for the public above a blue box. It will launch a PDF file that will take a good long time to open but rest assured the public can access the FRT...... even though .... once again... the FRT is not law. The RCMP disclaim this in the link below.

https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/firearms/firearms-reference-table

That being said.... if you take yours out, you may want to keep a hard copy of the May 1st OIC with you.
In case you have to explain to RCMP officer (or some nosey bastard at your local gun range) that your gun is not an AR 15 affected by Sparkle Socks' OIC.

For my black rifle, I keep a hard copy of the OIC in my gun case at ALL times should this ever happen to me.

I am not lawyer, but I would suspect that in the worst case scenario, your gun would be confiscated onsite if the officer doesn't accept your reasoning......would they arrest you? who knows ?

Another scarecrow. You state yourself you are not a lawyer….live it there..the Sterling is legal. That all is needed to know. OP build is great…

If anyone follow the court case posts..it have been admitted in court the FRT is not law.Thats were I stand.

The FRT is not a legal document. The RCMP website states this quite clearly.
It is a catalogue of firearms.
Classifications listed in the FRT reflect decisions which have been made.
If a classification was made in error, without legal basis, then it should be challenged.

Don't get me wrong... I totally agree with you that the ATRS MS (and thereby the Sterling) are perfectly legal.
However, I take a risk every second weekend when I take my ATRS MS out of the house.
That risk being, if I were to be approached by the RCMP at the range (or farm) with it in my possession, then there very well COULD be a problem.

An RCMP officer might radio in to the office looking for direction on what to do (even though I make the case mentioned in my earlier post). The person in the office will probably look up the ATRS MS..... guess what the status will show? ... prohib. The officer will probably be instructed to confiscate the gun on the basis that their own records (i.e. FRT) currently show the gun as "prohib". Again, it is factual that I am not a lawyer.

If you are out and about with a Sterling or Modern Sporter and happen upon law enforcement who disagrees with your/our stance, then things will become a legal mess real quick.

I take this risk knowing that it may go down like that..... I "buy this ticket" a couple times a month, I hope that I never "take the ride."

Sad to discover this new entry on Armalytics today....

Here's my build... most of it was transfered from my now probib AR SBR. Only thing new is the IBI 19" barrel and BCM MCMR rail.
Love this build, incredibly accurate and handles well.

Feel free to post your still-not-banned rifles below
