My SVT40 is denting my case! WHY?

Hi,

I just bought an SVT-40 from trade Ex and tryed around 20 rounds this weekend.
When I picked up my empty cases I saw that more than 50% were dented on the mount and 2 other dent spots on the case.
The dents are all at the same place and the ammo I used was Surplus.

Can someone hellp me with that please?

Its normal but sucks for reloads, You can turn the gas valve down "if you have the tool"

If it is denting around the mouth of the brass its normal as SVT 40s have a fluted chamber. The brass can also be dented as its flung out of the rifle. Try tuning down your gas system.

Epoxy7 and mine do the same. The dent is horizontal at the mid-point on the case.

That why you don't use the expensive SP ammo w/ re-loadable brass in your SVT. Use cheap steel cased ammo. Oh, but its so scarce, buy it while you can! Who cares if it write off your un use able steel cases.

They do that... just the way it goes. If you were worried it was something wrong with the gun, have no fear, they weren't made for reloading
