I took an svt40 I picked up that was in fairly good shape that I wanted to turn into a svd as I've always liked them
Here I sanded the stock but of course I left the serial number
I cut svd type skeleton stock holes being careful not to damage the serial number as I think I still need it so I can register the gun
I applied a nice orangy schellac to the stock The pic makes it look duller than it actually is
I spray painted the entire action and barrel flat black after sanding it down being careful not to damage the 1945 stamped area and serial number ( still need this part for the LGR )
Here you can see I cut the flash hider down from 6 ports to 3. It looks abit crooked as all I had was an angle grinder
Took off the sling attachments here and replaced with picatini rails where I will mount a tango down grip or magpul afg. Not sure which one yet
Cut off the front sight here Looks way better!
I drilled and going to mount a PU scope on the stock here ( still on order )
Mounted a ak pistol grip I know it looks bad now but another screw and it will not be so crooked
Chopped the clip down to 5 rounds. The clip had the same serial number as the gun but wasn't able to save it cuz it was to low on the mag. Was pinned inside with some type of fin and was a bugger to pull apart
