my sweedish m38 now received

I really want one of these. Picked up a M1896 and want a M38 as well as a AG42b to go with it. These Swede rifles are quite nice. Once again I missed the opportunity to pick up a great milsurp when they were cheap(ish). Seems people have caught on to them and the price are going up.

I remember well when these M38 rifles first were released in bulk from Sweden with the M96's and dealers and gunshops had crates of brand new examples, I had at one time, one for each year of manufacture including the uncommon 1944 examples (they ceased production early in 1944).

The M38 is a sweet handling rifle and very accurate to boot. A awful lot of the M38 rifles were bought by gun dealers and gunsmiths to convert into sporters, probably about 60%-70% of them ended up being turned into sporters, such a shame.

I sold all my M38 examples, probably should have hung onto them as they have and will only increase far more in value as time goes by.

I do have a excellent, straight out of the crate (it was factory refurbed before storage) Swedish ag42b with parts roll and bayonet that I may end up selling on the EE soon although.

Here are some pictures of my M38's before I sold them off -

Looking forward to the new year, just bought a M96/38 from P&S Militaria with a #1 bore condition. I can only hope it shoots as well as my full size M1896 which will put 3rd groups in 3" at 300 yds using cast lead round nose bullets.
