I dont mind the weight. Even with Elcan and rail mounted. It's very well balanced in my hands at least

Based on what????

What we know is HK has dominated the playing field from 2006 till 2013 and no one is really running to the SAN over the 416...In fact more units if anything are gravitating to the AR line than the SAN...

Aluminum receivers are not superior in all respects to steel receivers , steel is stronger and will have a longer service life. Aluminum only has 2 advantages over steel, lighter and easier to mill , thats it ... LMGs for instance all have steel receivers ... There is a reason there are millions of 50 year old functioning AKs all over the third world ,

As to weight...it depends on where the weight is. My M96 didn't weigh more than my Tavor, but it was all out front...

I went this route once (different scope) but found I loved my CQB better and shot is just as well out to 200m, which is what I did most of my shooting at a range at. If I could only have one SA and they were all NR then this is the set up I would have, alas it is not the world in which live.

Great rifle and photo, you got skills with a different kind of weapon!

I finally have my perfect rifle. It feels great, looks awesome, trigger is outstanding, married with Elcan it makes even more attractive and even more expensive combo. Now I have it. I am not sure for how long.....
